Description
Dark-eyed juncos are unique sparrows that nest on or near the ground in forests. In some regions, this bird is resident year round, but in many regions of the US, their arrival signals the beginning of the winter season. Juncos prefer to feed on the ground, eating seeds of grasses and weeds. Twelve subspecies of Dark-eyed Juncos occur across North America.

Sweet and cute sparrow, never seen this one around here. Wonderful capture, Parrish! FL

Thank you, Melly! We have so many in Southern California, their little beaks are the palest of pink, so sweet.
